BERCHTOLD Corporation Introduces the Brightest and Coolest Light for Today’s Operating Room
Berchtold Corporation, an innovative leader in the design of operating rooms, and a market leader in the design, development, assembly and service of surgical lighting, equipment management systems and surgical tables today announced the availability of its newest surgical product, the CHROMOPHARE® X66 HID (High Intensity Discharge) surgical lighting system.
The new product incorporates both highly efficient HID bulb technology and Thermasorb IR filtration to provide the coolest light in the surgical field; important for both patient safety and surgical staff comfort during long, open procedures. This technology enables the use of an efficient 70 watt bulb to produce the maximum allowable light intensity of 160,000 lux per IEC standards while providing the most appropriate color correct light for surgery. With no filament to break, X 66’s HID bulbs offer a 10,000 hour lifespan, and are commercially available for reliable and cost effective replacement.
Shadow control is a key X 66 strength, courtesy of Berchtold’s patented polygon reflector. This design covers the entire light head with 720 light-emitting facets making it difficult to cast shadows while using the X 66 light. Compact dimensions and light weight are maintained making the entire lighting system easy to position and maneuver. An integral video camera option is available that provides 18X optical and 1.3X digital zoom capabilities that can be used for documenting cases, teaching, tele-medicine, etc.
For over 85 years, BERCHTOLD has been a world leader in the design and manufacture of CHROMOPHARE® surgical lights, CHROMOVISION® flat panel monitor arms, CHROMOVIEW® in-light surgical camera, TELETOM® equipment management systems, OPERON® surgical tables and SUPERSUITE® custom surgical environments.
